Hello

I recently purchased a XFX GeForce4 MX440-SE when I had Windows ME then I upgraded to Windows XP and during the upgrade my Geforce4 didn't pass the logo test but I continued the installation anyway. Now whenever I try to play any game that requires 3D capabilities it doesn't get into it and comes up with the 'Send Error Report' message. I've tried installing the XP drivers off the cd but it says that it didn't pass the logo test and if i click continue anyway it just freezes and I have to Ctrl,Alt,Delete to get out of it. I've downloaded the other nvidia drivers off and it comes up with the same problem. I could just uninstall XP and go back to ME but I've become addicted to XP and would only do so if I had to. Please Help

Thanks in advance
ciao

The fact that these drivers havn't past the "logo" test doesn't mean they are the wrong ones, just that they havn't past Microsofts driver verification process, if you want to keep up with the latest driver releases then you will very rarely find that they have been "signed" this process of verification seems to take so long that by the time they are accepted by Microsoft the driver is obsolete and a "new" driver has already taken it's place.
The point is this has nothing to do with your problem, somewhere down the line things have got mucked up, it might be simpler to use system restore and try again or reinstall XP, Nvidia drivers don't like being installed over the top of old ones, they like to be uninstalled before you update. martin

Replying helps further our knowledge, without comment leaves us wondering.
