Hello all,

I have replaced this card already once before and it is once again exhibiting weird behavior when I first boot up or even sometimes waking up from the screen saver. What I am seeing is about 12 vertical blue lines at the MyLogo screen and also at the Windows XP Professional logo screen. Usually I just reboot a couple of times and the problem corrects itself. I have teaked BIOS settings, current dirvers, most recent BIOS update, Asus P4G8X deluxe. Any idea what might be causing the problem. I have replaced the card with a TI4600 and used it for about a week and I never had this problem. The new replacement card worked fine for about a month and then went on the blitz again. Any suggestions or comments would be most appreciated because this is driving me insane!

Thanks,

Gary

First thing I would do is try the computer with a different monitor. If it does the same thing, it's obviously a problem with the card or settings. Otherwise, your monitor has a problem. If it's not the monitor, I would try the card in a different machine to see if problem persists. If so, it's likely a bad card. Otherwise, likely a settings issue.

Sival,

I have tried a different monitor and the problem still persisted. The only other machine I have to try the suspect card in only has an 4X AGP slot. Can I use an 8X AGP card in a 4X slot? Also, what settings would you suggest to look at? BIOS settings I presume?

i used to experience a similar problem with my Ti500. Try a)updating your video drivers and b)updating your motherboard drivers to see if this corrects the problem as it solved it for me.

Also, i believe this card connects to the PSU? Is your PSU sufficient power (350W+) to cope with your modern system?

I have the 53.03 ForceWare Drivers installed, updated the chipset drivers and BIOS to the latest versions. My power supply is an Antec 430W PSU. Any more ideas? More than likely I will send the card back again for the second time and sell the new card on Ebay. Maybe I'll switch over to an ATI Radeon 9800XT, afterall it does whip up on Nivida's latest offerings.
