Hi,

I have a geforce 6600GT that I'm installing on my PC.
My board is a Asus P5RD1-V Deluxe, that already has vga chipset integrated.
I'm having some problems with the pc. Do I have to deactivate the vga card of the board in the bios in order that the geforce 6600GT works fine?
Another question, this a card that supports SLI, but it works fine without being in SLI right?

Thanks in advance.

The answer is yes for both queations. On some motherboards you have to disable the on-board VGA with a BIOS option. On others the BIOS will automatically disable the on-board VGA if it detects a graphics card (its graphics BIOS). This may even vary between the different BIOS versions for a same motherboard. Check in the manual of your motherboard. YOu may also want to see at Asus' website if there is an upgrade that can be downloaded for your BIOS.

Felix is right on. But I just want to add that in a newer board like the one you've got, the BIOS should disable the onboard VGA automatically once the PCI-Xpress card is detected.

And of course one works just fine on it's own , best in class until the recent X800GT launch.
