As of yesterday, my Pixelview Geforce 5200 FX card has completely failed. Up until then (around 4 months), the card has run perfectly and flawlessly.

Last night, my video card just shut off, thinking it was a moniter problem, I tried another moniter. It was indeed the video card. I'm typing this message now using my integrated graphics port.

To attempt to fix this, I opened up the side panel and let the system cool for around an hour. This was a solution, and the card worked again. Earlier today, I was running a game (and not a graphically intensive one), when the card suddenly locked up again. I repeated what I did last night, with the addition of putting a large fan blowing into the case. I let it cool down for an hour, yet it still wasnt functioning. I then took the card out, blew the dust from the card and the AGP slot, and re-seated it. It still didn't function. I then installed new drivers for my chipset. Again, nothing.

I've tweaked with setting in my BIOS and whatnot, yet nothing is fixing this. Is this just a dead card, or is something else wrong?

My "GeForceFX" just failed. One day - fine, next day - beeeeeep-beep-beep! Pulled it and found the fan had locked up. Free'd it, but the damage had been done. Time to up-grade anyway!

well since you have an integrated graphics card my guess is you'll never get beeps when ur GFX card is broken. So if you really wanna test it, use a different PC without integrated GFX card.
