I just got a PNY Geforce 3 Ti 200. I instaled the card and drivers and loaded up Ghost Recon, I set the resolution to 1600x1200 and all the detail options to the max. I ran the game for probably 15 minutes with a steady 30 fps but then it locked up, I leave the side off my case so I felt to see if the card was hot, it was very hot. It is the hottest around the ram that runs parrelel to the long side of the card. The ram at the end of the card isnt hot at all. Anyone have any clue why this might be?

system specs:
mobo: Intel D815EEA
p3 800EB
256 megs of pc133 ram
235 w power supply

It may not be a problem with the graphics card itself, I have had experience of many cards and the powerful ones do getr very hot indeed. My old 3DFX V3 used to get hot enough to burn, but ran fine none the less...

Maybe a driver issue, check for the latest driver download or perhaps the card is just faulty?

I would also be tempted to put a larger PSW in the machine.. just a thought.

*** POWER SUPPLY - cmyk - nailed what my thought was.

235 is WHIMPY.........
or wimpy........

You have maxed out that AGP slot's juice,,,,, and a 235 WATT P/S was 235 WHEN NEW.......... as they age they deteriorate, and it's not 235 anymore.

VIDEO cards,,,,, when pushed get HOT. Get a FAN..... one of those little units that are a slot fan,,,,,, and put it in the slot RIGHT BELOW the video card.......... along with the new P/S.

I like to order from -
you could find both items there...... fan about $6 or $8,
and P/S vary in price according to the QUALITY !!
Get at LEAST 300 WATTS........ and I recommend a NAME brand one.
