I have a GeForce 2, 64 MB Ultra video card, running under Windows ME on my
Dell 8100 series PC with a 1.3 GHZ Pentium 4 and 256 MB RAM... I have approximately 18.5 GB's in free hard drive space remaining (40 GB HD).. I am currently running
Direct X 8.1.
Here is my problem:
On my PC, certain software has problems properly displaying moving graphics...
Depending on the circumstances, the glitch varies from hardly noticable to nearly impossible to miss...
A couple examples of my problem:
If am using audio mixing software, the scrolling equalizer seems to get caught up on itself... It's hard to describe in words, but it seems like certain areas are moving while others are trailing behind...
Even more obvious is when I'm playing a game like Counter-Strike and looking down at a textured wall or something, and while moving, it seems to get sort of "ridgey" and caught up on itself...
This is SORT-OF what it looks like: (I made this image in Paint from a screenshot of one problem area, please note this is a sort of handmade reproduction of the glitch, not exact, but should give a rough idea of the problem I'm having...)
It seems to be more noticable in certain programs than others, but I believe it to be a universal problem, because when I take a screenshot of that area in Counter-Strike and paste it into Paint, and move it, it demonstrates the same ridge-effect...
I just updated my drivers yesterday and the problem persists, but I also tried downgrading my drivers and it made the problem significantly worse.
I don't know how to troubleshoot this... I don't know if it's a software or a hardware issue, and what I could do to fix it...
I am looking for any help/tips/etc that will resolve this...
Thanks.
