GDK-34e and deskphone speaker

Hello to all.
We have an LDK-30D admin phone which the speaker (hands free) is not working. I have swapped the phones with another that works and it doesn't work on that port so I presume it is programming.
I have tried PGM 5 7 on the phone and it doesn't seem to make a difference (it shows ATD programming). And the volume button doesn't show the progress bar.
Am I missing something here?
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you programmed a headset button?
What is shown in the display (H) or ((T) or?

The screen show ADT Menu which I haven't seen before. I have delved further and found that speaker was turned off at the system level for the extension. Admin program 11 (then FB7) to turn it on, then handset PGM 57 to turn it on there too.
