[GDK-20W] Continously Rebooting!

Hi all,

I recently bought a LG GDK-20W and tried to update the firmware to a version with Dutch language support.

The firmware load did not even start while the GDK made a reboot. After this happened the GDK does not seems to be starting up, but it`s keeping rebooting.

It`s not possible to reload the firmware because the serial interface does not work anymore.

I tried to change the SW1 reset switch, but no success.

What can i do to get this thing working?
Can anyone tell me if it`s possible to reprogram the eeproms onboard or so?

The LG GDK-20W is equipped with a PMU (Program Memory Unit), that contains the very small flashROMs, almost impossible to solder out.
We (when this product was sold from here) did buy some PMU's for spareparts from LG, because if the PMU's went dead, it was not possible to repair.
So you need to get a new PMU, if you want to procede...
Best thing is to contact your local dealer in your country.

In the meantime I did some testing and remarked that when i put SW1 on the PMU in -off position the flash memory was completely erased.

After this i was capable of downloading a new firmware to the GDK.

But my version is not ok. When i try to download the program keeps retrying and the GDK is not responding anymore.

I did find some spanish firmware version on the internet and loaded into the GDK, and now it`s working fine!

Is there a possibility to get the version with dutch language support?

To get Ductch software: The best thing is to contact your local dealer in your country.
They should not charge large sums for this....
