Hi,

I need to convert a .gdb file which has been exported from a salon management system (SolarTrack) into a format that Microsoft Access will import i.e .mdb or .dbf etc.

Does anyone have any ideas or know of any software which will carry out such a conversion?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Paul

This is an Interbase file, you have to install the interbase server to gain access to the file. After that with an sql - utility or Borlands Datapump you can convert it to acces. But stored procedures and other Client-Server specific features will not be available. Converting Interbase to Access is like trying to fit 8 cylinder chevy motor on a bicycle. Steven van Els

Thanks Steven, can I just download the interbase server onto my pc, and then will it just install and run? What about the datapump - is it difficult to use?

Cheers

Paul

The datapump is part of Borlands Delphi pro and enterprise edition, if you are familiar with sql, you could save the data to a text file, and after that load it in access. Another way is to use Interbase as a back-end with the get external data

Thanks Steven, I'll have a look at this on Monday.

Hey Rozza,

Did you manage to do this successfully? I want to do a similar thing.

Thanks in advance,
