gcc compiler supported by which vendor

Is gcc compiler is supported by any vender on AIX ver 5.1, NOT the free version as our company don't wants to take the free source and is there any other good C++ compiler supported by any vendor on AIX.

I belive gcc is good, and I belive it is better
than other products.

I am an IBM reseller, but I ever suggest gcc.

However some customer (also 1 mine), asked me
for a "supported" product: in this case I belive
that, on AIX platform, the best is to refer to IBM product;

in this case there is

VisualAGE C++

or simply

C for AIX

victorv, is the gcc compiler supported under the "Linux Toolkit" or whatever IBM calls it? IBM supports the IBM HTTP Server which uses the Apache engine, however, I don't know if they support the Toolkit apps.

Also, the C for AIX and VisualAge products are optimized for AIX and IBM hardware, though I am not sure that the gcc compiler, even though part of the Toolkit would be optimized for IBM hardware.

I have answered to the second, becouse also I
"don't know if they support the Toolkit apps"

If a customer ask for a "supported" product, he wants
a "BOX", with agreement, License, Warranty, ecc, and
he agrees to spend money for this.

(IBM HTTP Server) / Apache = (C for AIX,VisualAge) / gcc

The customer decides the approach: commercial/free:
both choices are good, depending from his strategy.
