Hi!

We have just upgraded to Symantec Client Security and have a user that used Gator. Now that we upgraded her, it removed her Gator saying it was spyware. Does anyone know of an alternative software that does the same as Gator?

Thanks!

Gator is spyware as far as I am concerned. What functionality does Gator do for her that you want on your system?

Just curious,

Erik

Anyhow, check this out:

A Better Alternative
We won't leave you without a useful tool to replace Gator. To the rescue is RoboForm. RoboForm is a tool that does what Gator does and without the ads. RoboForm will convert and import the database from the existing Gator program. Before you delete Gator altogether, install RoboForm and use it to import all your existing Gator database information. Once you have done that, you may then remove Gator. What's even better is that RoboForm is provided Free in its basic form. The people at RoboForm have vowed to never resort to using ThiefWare tactics—the best news for all of us.

This is exactly the answer I was looking for. She is in purchasing and frequents many different websites. She wants it to fill in username, password and any other information for shipping, etc. It looks like Roboform is something she can try. I had always told her that Gator was spyware, but she insisted she use it.

Thanks!

There is a "built-in" function in windows that does just that. Open IE, click on tools, then internet options, then click on the content tab. In the personal information section there is a button called auto complete. Click on that button and select the appropriate options.

Note if your company uses policies they may prevent you from changing that. If not it should work like a charm!

I'd thought I'd heard everything until I heard someone actually has a use for GATOR!!!!! Hahaha! that is some funny stuff....

Yeah, and GATOR has a use for all that stuff!

Google toolbar also has a form complete function.

Seriously, considering GATOR was used to store form logins, I would very seriously consider at the least changing passwords to those sites ASAP after GATOR is nuked.
