If you only have IP Phones and SIP trunks are gateway resources required? If there is CODEC translation required then obviously this must be the case but if every endpoint is doing G.711a (or G.711u) then there should be no need for a call to go through a gateway?
I have a test MX-One under VMWare with a couple of H.323 phones (4422's) registered. Calling between these is fine but if I try to call via a SIP trunk it fails. I need to get wireshark on and look at the SIP conversation but if this fundamentally won't work then I'll stop now...

Cheers
Andy

Yes you do need RTP resources for H.323 to SIP conversion.

you also need TMU resources if you want to be able to perform some extension functions such as transfer calls etc.
