Hi, I have a Gateway NV55C Laptop, each time I start system it restarts itself.
I have reseated the harddrive and memory, because I think it is a hardware issue, but this didnot result in a solution.
If anyone has a solution please share it with me.

Specs.

4 Gb DDR Memory
1.3 Webcam
Intel Pentium processor p6100
Intel HD Graphics
250 Super GB HDD
15.6" 16.9 HD LCD
DVD-Super Multi DL drive

How long does it take before it restarts?

Does it do it once its trying to load Windows?
Can you access BIOS?
If you can does it restart while in there?

It could be heat related... have you tried cleaning out the fans and vents?

It could be driver related... If it starts loading windows and then restarts, then its likely a driver problem. See if you can get into Windows Safe Mode.

Try booting into a Live CD (Linux, BartPE Windows Cd for example). If it works then, then its again likely a driver issue with your Windows installation.

Post back with results of the tests.

Ignorance is not necessarily Bliss, case in point:
Unknown has caused an Unknown Error on Unknown and must be shutdown to prevent damage to Unknown.

Like Vacunita suggested, we need to know where it restarts during POST or right when it starts to load Windows.
When it restarts during POST (power on self test) then ignore the thing about booting with a Linux Live CD, as that will not function then...

Giving it a dusting, would be the first thing I would do, as suggested, it might be heat related...

but without the answer to where/when it restarts, where all just assuming things...
