I am currently in the process of taking one apart. There are a lot of annoying pieces and parts in it. IF THERE IS ANY WAY, GO WITH AN EXTERNAL DRIVE. To get to the hard drive, first you have to remove the speaker on the back, the plastic behind it, the power supply, all the connectors that are located at the base of the unit. Then you have to remove the stand, then the back panel of the screen and a metal shield that covers the entire MB area. Once you have done that, most things look familiar. You have a standard MB with a PCI slot on one side and a AGP graphics card on the other. You still have to remove another metal bracket to even access the hard drive. It is a standard IDE hard drive. It took me well over and hour to just take the unit apart. I figure it will take 2-3 to re assemble, just because it is so easy to remove those small plugs in tight spaces, but it will be an absolute pain to replace all of them.
