Hi, I have a new BCM450 with latest patches and keycodes in, digital trunk interface in slot one,
GASM8 in slot 2 DSM32 in slot 3.

all switches are set to up because thats what a coworker says for a 450. that is probably the problem though.

When I try to configure both MBMs, I can get both to work, but the DNs come up on different MBMs. for instance, the DSM32 shows I am using DNs 221-252 and the GASM shows 269 to 276. In reality, the analog phone plugged in is 221 and I can ring to the digital set on 269 when i dial 269. If I disable the GASM it actually disables the DSM32. What am I doing wrong? Also, when I enable the DSM 32, only one side of it shows to be enabled in element manager.

Thanks
Dan

You should install the DSM32 in slot 1 (bottom slot) as Nortel has preprogramed that slot for a 32+ module, that being said it could be changed if you wanted. All Dip switches should be turned on, this is for all of the modules in the system. There are 2 sets of Dip's on the GASM, switch 1 of the mode/country switch (set of 8 Dip's) should be on and the other 7 off, this allows for firmware updates to the GASM.

Once your modules are in place, power up & then configure the modules under Confuguration>Resources>Telephony Resouces. You will notice there that you are assigning the modules to Bus 10, 20, 30 & 40 (Slots 1-4) instead of Bus 1-4 in the BCM400. You can deconfigure and configure there to re-assign your numbering plan of your digital and analog sets.

Good luck.
