Garbled Audio on Nicelog

Anyone know what may cause garbled audio to be recorded on a Nicelog? I have several channels that begin to record garbled audio after a while on some channels and the only way to fix it is to restart the box. Any ideas on the cause?

Thanks

apply the latest logger hotfixes, this is a known issue, sorry I cannot remember the specific hotfix but I know I've seen this in the past.

If this fails or you have all hotfixes applied check that your NIC cards have TOE (TCP Offload Engine) disabled.

If this fails check you do not have any SPAN cards configured that are not active (i.e. if cable is unplugged then ensure card is not enabled in Logger IP Tool).

You should know that it is a mixed logger with TDM and analog only. No VOIP. Are you recommendations still valid?

not with relation to TOE or SPAN cards. Do check you have latest SP and hotfix though and do the saving to nmf or wav file test as well to see if you get result. Try saving to nmf or wav from the CLS server, locate the call first and then save option should be available. Other thing is is this related to analog only or trunk only or both?

Analog only. What is weird is that it seems to only affect radios and is spread throughout the recorder. Thanks for the help.

Do any analog calls replay ok? Are all analog calls radio? Do you have logger hardware install manual, could be a red herring but I seem to recall analog and digital cards are required to be installed in a specific order.

Most do sound fine. The cards are also in the proper sequence. I guess I may have start with the compression board. I forget the name as the problem travels across the analog modules.

Is the issue related to specific channels? If so check the compression you have set for that channel.

What is odd is that the problem goes across several ALI cards. But it wont corrupt all audio.

If you save the same call to NMF file do you get the garbled playback?

Can you confirm if this affects all calls on specific channels only?

I've just noticed UN100505 related to VoIP (I know you're not using VoIP but might be related) a fix was released for Garbled recording when recording G722 calls. I don't expect this is related but raises the question what compression you're storing calls at? Check all channels are configured for the same compression, maybe change to G711 for a period across all channels to see if this resolves the issue.
