I have a 24 machine network with NT on the server and W98 clients. When one of the clients switches on or prints to a network printer 3 printers print 3 or 4 lines of garbage until they run out of paper or the print jobs are cancelled.
The machine in question only has one of these printers set up on it.
I have tried: Stopping/re-starting the spooler.
replacing the drivers (on all 3 m/c's that use the printer.
Scanning for virus.
etc
Has anyone encountered this problem?

The Bugbear virus can cause garbage to be printed on shared printers.
