Hi All,

Is there a way in MS Project to format the colour of the Gannt bar dependant on the resource performing the task?

Thanks.

A.

Yes ... but it is an exceptionally roundabout way and wouldn't work if you (as most PMs do) ever assign two resources to the same task.

Basically, you would set up a formula in one of the Number columns that establishes a value based on the name of the Resource. Then, in Format | Bar Styles you would set up a different bar colour for each of the values in the Number column you used in the earlier step.

Project is not a great tool for making pretty pictures -- use Visio or Paint for that. They aren't very good for managing projects, though. You'll have to decide which is more important: using your time to manage the project or using your time to draw pretty pictures.

Brain cramp. I said "Number" field; it's "Flag" fields.

Thanks.

I'll give it a go.
