I want to know how to start Game Programming ?..Is it possible to make a very efficent graphic oriented like FLIGHT SIMULATOR in VB? i know its could be done by directX but i need to know where and how to start? need to have source or links if someone have

Hey, I am a young Australian programmer who is currently writing an RPG (Role-playing Game) in the VB language. I am not using anything fancy like DirectX, just the basic WinAPI and Blitting methods. The method that I am using is extremely simple and is allowing me to make a complex gaming engine that involves Strategy over reflexes.

This method that I am using is relatively simple to achieve. Let me know if you need more info

dear
well the idea behind this post came from my mind when i saw a person who shows a very good graphic oriented FLigh Simulator kind of game at an exhibit..when i ask him about the game he not told me everything just few things that he made the background in some kind of software and then integerates it into his main application i don't know how this could be done to make the scenees with the help of other software and integerate it into main app? there is also i think VB not too good in this respect but i might be wrong becuase i haven't done enough research on this topic of game programming..lets see if i can get some more response ..

I have heared from a colleague the AutoDesk could be used to make "background" for this purpose ,he also not sure how to launch it from VB..and the file saved could be launched from VB application has anyone does this? or any other techq to make a very good graphic oriented game
