I did something stupid :(
On my server running windows 2k server, i wanted to make a folder accessible (read) for everyone on the network. Its parent's permissions were full access for only specific users so i wanted to override this.
So i clicked the folder i wanted and set the security to override parent's permissions, the i added everyone read-only to the list. What i forgot to do is add administrator full-access. And now i can't delete/edit permissions/write/do anything except read in that folder!

how do i get around this?

thanks

Take ownership of that folder.

You may want to post windows 2000 questions in the win2k forum. You'll generally get a quicker response.

I'll see your DMCA and raise you a First Amendment.

I agree with SgtB.

Take Ownership:

1) Properties | Security | Advanced | Owner.

2) Click on the new owners name (normally administrators or your own if your a admin). I would put a check in the box for taking ownership of the subfolders and data.
