How do you configure a G700 with and S8300 LSP to auto-fall back to the primary server? We have setup recovery rules and assigned them to the media-gateways but the gateways never re-register with main server/processor when the network has been up and stable after the set time. Can anyone tell me why this is or what we might be missing? We are running CM 3.0.1? Thanks.

there is a line on the gateway where you have to put the rule number. do change media-gate XXX and you will see it

If you are still having problems, I can tell you it's probably CM 3.0.1
That was one of the worst CM 3 releases to date.
I would highly, highly sugguest you upgrade to CM 3.1.4,
here is a link to the ISO on the AVAYA Website, burn the CD and upgrade your systems. Get the CM 3.1.4 patches as well (DST patch, CM patch, and Linux security patch)
you need to login to the download center, to get it.

no, it does not matter.
You should check the "mg recovery rule" on the G700's
telnet into each G700 MGP, do a "show mgp recovery"
and also do a "show mgc". If you have more than 1 CLAN card listed on the show mgc, make sure the transition point is set to more than 1. For example, if you have 2 CLANs, and the S8300LSP as the 3rd entry on your "show mgc", then you would want the transitiion point set to 2. this is done via "set mgp reset transition 2" (you also must type "config" before you can do this command).
If your transition point is wrong, it could delay or prevent the G700 from registering or recovering properly.
Of course if you upgraded your LSPs, then your main site to CM 3.1.4, that would also help. Many, many bugs have been fixed in CM 3.1.4, since CM 3.0.1 was released. Why run an old version of CM3, when AVAYA is giving you CM 3.1.4 for free, on their website, as a downloadable ISO, you just burn a CD and you are good to go.

Thanks Mitch. I think it was the transition point setting since it was set to three but there are only two CLANs then the LSP so it should have been set to 2. I changed that and I will test again next week, but I think it is working properly now. Thanks again.
