Currently have a customer with the following system

G700 with S8300B
MM720 BRI
MM711 x 2

then attached is a G350 with MM711 with 4 ports for the audix

they have 170 IP handsets... is there any way i can take out the G350 and install a G650 insted never seen 2 gateways linked together before ...plus the have 3 - G350 in branch offices they need to connect to the G700... can this been done?

thanks

no, you can't add a G650, since the main system is an S8300

the S8300 only supports H248 gateways, it will not support IPSIs required for a G650

There is no issue using multiple gateways, G700's can be mixed with G350's, thats not a problem.

so i can add the branch office with 3 - g350 to the g700 then

are you adding these branches as LSP's, or independent gateways? If they already have S8300's in these branches, they are separate, standalone systems. You would have to add RTU to the main switch, and get LSP licenses, and add all of the programming from each separate site to the main site.

or, you could just setup H323 IP trunking between these standalone systems.

you havn't said what these remote systems are, not enough information.

the 3 remote systems are standalone g350 with s8300... yes i will need to connect them to the g700.. to make them lsp

you need to make sure you have enough RTU on the main switch, to handle all of the extenions on the 3 remote sites (they will be added in).

You need to make sure the diaplans are compatible.

You need an LSP license for each remote S8300 site.

you need to become familiar with the "multiple locations"' ars programming, and how that gets setup, so each site can have its own "ars ana" table, so you can create trunk groups for each site, and have each sites phones use the trunks for that site. You also need to be fmialiar with setting up the "ip-network-map" so you can map each sites IP phones to a network-region, which also maps them to a "location" (for the ars by location feature)

This is a lot of work, and if you have "ProVision" its a little easier, as it will let you download each site, and then you can "copy/paste" stations, trunk groups etc. of course you still need to do a lot of manual work, such as make sure each site is using its own trunk group/signalling group #'s, routes, etc.

you might want to enlist the help of an AVAYA Business Partner, as none of this can really be done without placing some orders with AVAYA, running the ASD configurator, and using RFA to create the LSP licenses (from the Main sites SID), plus a Business Partner will be able to assist with the programming, and may have ProVision, which will make this go faster.

You will be migrating 1 remote site at a time, that's the only way to really do this as well.

login to RFA rfa.avaya.com and look at the Feature Keywords document for those definitions. They are RTU for features that you pay for and how many you paid for and how many are in use at the time you did the display capacity command.
