G450 Gateways - Refurbed from Avaya Not Registering

Good day folks

We have received 2 G450s from Avaya - "refurbed". We are unable to get either to register with CM and have requested another. We took one of our project spares and it came up with no issues and on the same network port.

Is there something that does not get cleared on a nvram init? G450 is accessible and is on the network.

CM 10.1.3.1
G450 HW 4 firmware 42_24 or 42_27

Additionally, when updating the G450, firmware loads and functions, but we get a "Last warning: Lifetime validation test failed." after the firmware is copied to the G450.

G450 was removed from CM and added back in.

Stumped.

Walk me through a couple of things. When you loaded the firmware did you do it on both boot banks or just one. Did you CLI into the G450 and copy the serial number from it to add to CM? NVRAM clears everything.

Thanks, we have 78 G450s/G430s up and haven't had any issues. The only difference is these 2 we have been banging on were DOA replacements refurbed from Avaya. All the rest were new out of the box. You don't load new firmware on the active boot bank. Of course, we copied the serial number out. We are going after a third refurbed G450 now.

Was 'pmi' set on the ethernet interface? That will cause a gateway not to register.

verify the correct serial number is being use, by doing 'sh sys'. have had refurbed gw's in the past where serial number on the label did not match what it actually was.

Thanks everyone. In the end the 3rd one Avaya sent was a charm. There was definitely something wrong with them.
