I've got new replacement G450 MG's online and registered, with the idea of retiring my G650's shortly. I'm moving services over slowly and the sync source came to mind. There's no s8300 in these as they will just be controlled by duplex and/or an ESS. Do I need to set the sync source for 1 of the DS1 boards? Wasn't sure if that's a carrier requirement or should be mandatory setup in the MG.

yeah, the MG cli. With one PRI, you'd set it as primary, and allow failover to the free run/on the MG itself AND enable failback to the PRI when it comes back.

I refer to Mr Avaya Tier 3's wonderful step-by-step here:

cm6 with g430 and g450 have new commands that allow making these changes from CM so you do not
have to use media-gateway CLI

change synchronization media-gateway
list synchronization media-gateway
Code:
list configuration ds1

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION - DS1 Circuit Packs

Location Code Vintage Signaling Name CSU MOD

001V1 MM710BP HW16 FW051 isdn-pri PRI1 n/a
002V1 MM710BP HW16 FW051 isdn-pri PRI2 n/a

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
list synchronization media-gateway

              SYNCHRONIZATION MEDIA-GATEWAY PLAN

       No. Primary Secondary

       1 001V1
       2 002V1
