I have been pre-sataging a S8300/G350 LSP. I have used the installation wizard and everything appears to go smoothly. I can get the G350 to register and I check on ASA and all appears to be OK, list media shows as registered. When we power off the G350 and try to bring it back up, it will not register with the mgc. If i run the wizard again, as soon as I get to the point of inputing the IP Address of the S8300 and it then goes to reconfigure ethernet ports etc, the gateway registers again. As soon as we power down the same happens over and over again. CM 4.0.1 with cold patch 00.1.731.2-15215.tar.gz activated. FW on G350 is 27.27.0. Any help appreciated as we are installing in Zurich next week.

why are you using FW 27.27.0 with a CM 4.0.1 switch? That firmware is specified for CM 5.0

I would back it off the firmware listed for CM 4 as starting point.

27.27.0 works fine in 3.1 and 4.0. I find that the iproute does not alwys take and I have to enter it manually. Go to MGP CONFIGURE prompt and "set ip rout mgp 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" where xxx is the default gateway address. Yes the multiple 0.0.0.0 works, as a matter of fact it's all I found that will work.

I have many problems when using the wizard. i just use the wizard for the upgrades of the firmware and configure the server and Gxxx manually.
Here are the commands for manually configuring the G350 with CLI:
interface vlan <vlan #>
ip address <ip address> <subnet mask>
exit
copy run start
reset
ip default-gateway <ip address>
set mgc list <ip address,s>
show mgc list (to confirm)
copy run start
reset

I try to avoid the wizard, it seems to have improved as time has gone on but I prefer to program using the CLI

also when you are done programming, from CLI try the "copy run start" command (I think full config is copy running-config startup-config or similar) to save your config, maybe it's losing its config when you power off
