Hi-

We have a major problem - our phones are not working in our remote office.
Thinking we have a failing board...

1.
A "list config all" of a board that used to look like this(With BAD/non-working ports marked - possible failing card):

Board Assigned Ports
Number Board Type Code Vintage u=unassigned t=tti p=psa

005V4 DCP MM MM717AP HW03 FW004 BAD BAD BAD 04 05 BAD 07 08
09 10 p 12 13 14 15 16
17 18 p p p 22 23 24

2.
And after a reboot looks like this:

005V4 DCP MM no board p p p p p p p p
09 10 11 12 13 14 15 16
17 18 p p 21 22 23 24

Any ideas as to what we can do?
Release the board or remove board and re-seat again?
Thx.

-P

Also - when trying to busy board...

busy board 005V4 --> "Media Gateway is not registered "
release board 005V4 --> "Media Gateway is not registered "

Appears all of our boards are not listed under "vintage" column now - is there something wrong here?

Ok - now all are back up after 2 reboots except 4 phones - digital based.
I know we may have a bad card and may need to swap ports.

A few phones are out of service...
Is there a way to bring them back up into server?
We pulled the jacks and plugged back in and nothing is happening so far...

Can we re-register this G350?

--> "Media Gateway is not registered "

Per Avaya:

To re-register a media-gateway perform a "reset system 5" on the LSP, not the media-gateway?
Is this accurate and will the reset 5 only affect the gateway and not the S8300 ?

list media-gateway

Num Name Serial No/ IP Address/ Type NetRgn Reg?
FW Ver/HW Vint Cntrl IP Addr RecRule

5 Milwaukee MG 1 05IS50698438 192.168.103.11 g350 3 n
25 .28 .0 /2 none

--> reset system 5

Will this reset the phones and system when re-registering?
Will it affect our S8300's/G700's in other locations?

Thanks or any help.

-P

Thanks for the help - appreciate the responses.
Am no Avaya Phone Admin - am learning as I go.

Seems that when I tried to use the G350 to list commands - even as dadmin - we weren't getting accurate results?
Had to login to our S8300 to siwtch ports and get accurate tets on stations/ports?

And not sure why the G350 is not registered? ( LSP related?)
Maybe that is why we can;t run the commands - not sure.

-P

Main:

list media-gateway
list survivable-processor

is media-gateway registered?
is list registered?
is lsp active? y

login to lsp - telnet to the ip address for the lsp
reset system 4

check output again from commands above on the main.

Excellent - makes sense.
Thank-you AvayaTier3.

Don't see our G350 in here 0s it supposed to be?
Only our S8300's(w/ G700's)

list survivable-processor

SURVIVABLE PROCESSORS
Name Type IP Address Reg LSP Translations Net
Act Updated Rgn

CedarRapidsLSP LSP 192.168.102.10 y n 22:00 9/18/2013 2
MilwaukeeLSP LSP 192.168.103.10 y n 22:00 9/18/2013 3

So reset system 5? (G350 - registered in List-media-gateway?)

We need to replace a MM717 board(bad/failing ports in card)- DCP card in this machine next week and if we can't busy/release the board - would have to shutdown and then replace and start up again.
Else, any other clues to enable the list config, busy, test and stat commands to work properly?
Thx.
