G3 Powerbook Won't Startup Won't Charge

Hello, I have a Powerbook G3 firewire M7572. I had not used my computer in a while and tried charging it to boot it up but it wouldn't take a charge. I automatically figured it was the power cord that had gone bad because I just replaced the battery not all that long ago. I got a replacement power cord and the computer still will not charge the battery nor will it startup with the adapter plugged in. Mainly I just want to boot the computer so I can back up my files. Any advice on how I can get this done or get it to power on again?

Try taking the battery out, plugging in the machine and see what happens. I'm assuming you're getting zero power as opposed to a bad boot or nothing on the screen.
