FXO to FXS not ringing!!!!

Hi,

I have a peculiar problem, I am using a FXO to connect an Extn to the PBX in the main site, and in the remote site i am connecting a Phone to the FXS. The routers used in both sides is Cisco 2611. The people from the remote site is able to ring any extns in the main office. However the Main office people cannot ring to the remote site. Please can u help me.

I can't speak on Cisco, but every FXO/FXS circuit I have worked with--had a Ring generator. It could be a built-in or external device. The point is: you need something
to make your phones ring & supply ringing voltage at the FXS end (usually: 65 to 110 Volts-AC at 20 or 25hz).

Sounds like you need to set up the voice port connection type to plar at the main site so that when the fxo comes off hook, it will tell the remote router to ring the phone. You'll also need a dial-peer associated.
