Anybody ever tried to use a FXO gateway (SIP) on a BCM?

The goal is to answer lines from a different city locally by a AA greeting; to avoid having a set forwarded to other BCM with a DID answered by the AA.

I havent but the concept should would. The BCM is going to see the output of the gateway as SIP.

Have you tried asking the manufacturer.

Which one? Avaya or gateway? As for Avaya, might as well ask a monkey what's its view of the housing market.

It might work, however certainly don't even try on 50r2 or 50r1, as SIP was never full implementation on BCM. I recommend you try FXO to a 50r6. Officially I doubt it would be supported. SIP in terms of sip trunks on BCM had certain caveats on use, albeit this was well over a year since I left. To be honest, I only worked on FXO & FXS on SCS, not BCM, however I believe some customers have implemented FFXS on BCM.
