Can someon explain to me what card I would need for what in a CallManager and the function of each?

Little confused because I'm coming from a PBX world where I order Ts and POTS only.

Thanks!

FXO - Foreign Exchange Office - Connects to a Telephone Line or extension

FXS - Foreign Exchange Station - Connects to a Telephone Handset

POTS - Plain Old Telephone Service

Google - A popular WEB Search Engine....... Sorry couldn't resist

Typically you would purchase an FXO module to connect your voice router directly to an exchange line or an extension. You would use an FXS module to directly attach an analogue telephone to your router. POTS is just a name for the standard telephone service most people have at home, in contrast to ISDN which isn't POTS.

I goggled it and still was a little unclear in regards to Cisco cards. I did find this which made it dummy proof for me:)

FXS
The FXS module (Foreign Exchange Station) connects ordinary analog telephones to a voice gateway. You may also connect fax machines and overhead paging stations to these ports. Dial tone and ring voltage is provided to the analog sets when the end device goes off hook or is receiving a call. The interface on an FXS module is a standard RJ-11 cable. FXS port supplies the dial tone.
FXO
The FXO module (Foreign Exchange Office) connects to the PSTN or a PBX. The FXO connects to the C.O. switch. The C.O. switch actually thinks that the FXO port is a telephone. It also uses a standard RJ-11 cable. The FXO port does not provide dial tone and therefore you should not plug a telephone into the FXO port.
