fwd http traffic to https

I am setting up a web site and i just ordered my cert from network solutions. It will be a few days until i get my cert. When i install the cert how can i have all the traffic from

http://www.mydomain.com

fwd to

https://www.mydomain.com?

is it a matter of just checking a check box or do i have to add a filter.

your web page should be designed to automatically forward to 443 are you using IIS? your listening port should be 443 so when they enter

http://www.domain.com

it will automatically forward to

https://www.domain.com

im not an IIS guru but somewhere in IIS you establish listening ports or what port your website will be available on. i think by default its 80 but somewhere you can change it to 443
