I have an Option81C and an Octel Aria250 vmail. Is there any way to forward an incoming call that comes in through the vmail to a different mailbox than the origionally dialed extension?

eg.

call comes in to auto attendant
caller enters extension they wish to reach eg 1234
if the phone is busy, I would like to send the caller to a generic mailbox eg 5678 (different from the origionally dialed number). Whatever I try, it always ends up in the mailbox of the origionally dialed extension 1234. How do I get it to end up in mailbox 5678? I've played around with the Alternate HUNT and second level forwarding features with no luck.

Thanks

The Meridian always keeps track of the originally called number, so this is what will be presented to the voicemail.

In the Octel, check if you have Pkg 44 Networking. If you do have it here is a work around we use with the same Equiptment (an Option81C and an Octel Aria250 vmail). Set up a Node that is YOUR system. (I can help w/that if you need it) Then in the USERS (1234) mailbox at the "FORWARDING DESTINATION NODE" put the number of the Node you just configured and at the " FORWARDING DEST MAILBOX" put 5678. As it implies, all messages for 1234 will be forwarded to 5678.

IT WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE IN MAIL, THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE IN THE SWITCH

Did you print the number being dialed, to be sure it's not forwarded to that number??

Good Luck,
