I am trying to get fw logswitch to work on my management system but get an error - when i check the system log it says unable to find file??.The operating system is windows2000 proffesional.

I can however setup a schedule to do a fwstop etc.

i am using the following string

at 23:59 /every:Su c:\winntfw1\4.1\bin fw logswitch

ANY IDEAS???

c:\winntfw1\4.1\bin fw logswitch
If you copied this then the problem is no \ between winnt and fw1 and no \ after bin
c:\winnt\fw1\4.1\bin\fw logswitch

Sorry i typed it incorrectly on my e-mail.

c:\winnt\fw1\4.1\bin\fw logswitch

the error message states that it cannot find the file specified, ie fw logswitch. But i can do it manually.

this may be another type in your original post

the command c:\........ in an AT command should be in ""

at 23:59 /every:Su "c:\winnt\fw1\4.1\bin\fw logswitch"

Got it to work by creating a bat file called fwlogswitch and then using the scedule gui set up time etc...

for some strange reason it wont work when i use the AT commands.

thanks you responses.

had i thourght about it thats the way we used to do it (probably for the same reason).
If you ever upgrade to NG you can automate the log switch from within the firewall object. (4.1 > NG on NT is a real pain in the ....)
