I have a new FVS318v3 firewall behind a Netgear DG834G ADSL router. I have configured theWAN and LAN ports on both devices and successfully connected to the internet. I have also established and tested the necessary services and rules to enable port forwarding for various network functions.

The problem starts when creating VPN Policies. I can create the IKE policy without a hitch, but as soon as the first (and only!) VPN policy is enabled, I cannot connect to the internet. I have triple checked all the IP addresses in use, but with the VPN policy enabled, I can't even get access to the DG834G.

I have confirmed that I have internet access, then click enable for the only policy in the VPN Policies screen and apply and access to internet and DG834G disappears. Similarly, access is re-established when unchecking the enable box and clicking apply.

Can somebody help me please?

Many thanks in advance.

Dan

I use this router and never had this issue so my first question why are you setting up a VPN? Do you have another site to connect?
