We replaced the fuser on our Laserjet 1300 and since then it seems like it takes awhile for it to warm up and start printing.
Also we usually print UPS labels and they have not been a problem, however, since the fuser has been replaced it leaves toner specks all over the print out. It seems to only be on the label and then some on the top of the next page, however, after that everything seems fine. The printer was cleaned prior to the fuser being replaced as well. We have tried a different to toner cartridge but that does not seem to be the problem either. I wouldn't think anything about it, but we have used these labels all along with no problem.

did you check and make surethe printer was setup for the correct type of media? as the 1300 adjusts the fuser temp according to how the media is setup.

Can transfer rollers make a problem like that?

I see reference to replacing transfer rollers along with the fuser, but I don't know if a bad one would make a come and go problem like that, or if once it was bad, there would be problems all the time.

I do not see where 1300's options for the media type are. I will have to go back in and see if I can find that again.

Not sure if the transfer rollers would be it, It does seem to only be if the thicker media is sent through the printer.

Here's where I find the paper selection on the 1200, don't know if it would be close to the same on the 1300.

when you have the printer selection screen after you choose to print a document, there is a properties box to the right of the printer selection.

when I click that for the 1200, it gives me a series of tabs.

Paper is one of those. When I click the paper tab, down at the bottom of the page, it shows a little box headed with optimize for:
And labels is one of the choices in the pull down menu.
