funny norstar behavior i ran into the other day. customer has a 6x16dsdr5 and if you pick up a trunk and get dialtone using the speakerphone then pickup the handset and then hang up the handset quickly, the phone goes off hook right away to the speaker phone and you hear dialtone over the speaker phone.

i am not sure if there is a timer that you can adjust like link timer etc. i tried this out my norstar here and it does the same thing.

is there any way change this so that when you place the handset down, it hangs up for good

you need to press the release key to hang up the trunk from speakerphone.

Heh your right...I just tried it but you have to hang up pretty fast..built in safety feature incase you drop the handset while picking it up perhaps?

The Norstar does not release a line for about one second after the handset is hung up. This prevents an accidental hang up in the event that the user intended to put the call on hold first. The user has time to retreive the call before the disconnect.

ah, you see. stuff like this drives me crazy. i figured it was a built in safety feature, but wasn't sure

thanks
