HI,
We have windows 7 machines heavily tied down by group policy. Some users need to burn CDs so we have created a policy to allow this and it works but when the users shut down their machines then log on again they get access denied to the CD rom drive. A gpupdate and reboot allows access to the drive again but the next time the user shutsdown the PC that seems to tie down the drive again causing it to show access denied. If the user restarts while they have access to drive, the drive is still available after log on, it just appears that a shutdown seems to cause them to be denied access to the drive at next logon.
I have ran gpresult in verbose mode while the policy is working and also when they get access denied to the drive but the output is identical, in either case all policies are applied.
Any ideas?
