I apologize for being so clueless. I have been trying to define a procedure that can be called as part of a formula that returns a value. I am able to define a procedure that does not return a value but I can't seem to define one that does return a value. I would appreciate any help.

What you want is called Prototyping
See Page 119 of the Clarion 5 Users Guide
"Use the Prototype field in the Procedure Properties dialog to redefine the prototype generated in the program or module MAP.. The Prototype declares everthing the calling program needs to call the PROCEDURE, including data types of any parameters. See Procedure Prototyping in the Language Reference for more information"
from the clarion users guide pg 119

Thanks much for your help. I got what I was trying to do working. Thanks again.
