fun one - esx4 / netapp / exchange 07

we setup a new exchange 2007 server in new infastructure and users that have more then 5000 emails in a folder when launching outlook 07 get a long delay..

Seems to be latency between outlook & exchange, not sure if anyone has experienced this and has some ideas?

turn off cache mode in outlook.

This should really be in an Exchange forum. But..

Actually you would want cache mode turned on with that number of items unless mailbox is >4GB.

See this article for why >5000 items in a folder is a bad idea for online use.
