I am creating a document in Illustrator in which the text needs to be fully justified (meeting both right and left margins). I have found what I thought was the correct box (in the Paragraph guide) to click, but it's not doing the trick. Should I be doing something else as well?

I have searched the Help feature and consulted the manual to no avail. Unfortunately, I only have the manual that came with the program at present.

Thanks in advance,
Barbara

To make this work, you must draw a text container first, otherwise Illustrator won't know how far left or right it should justify the text.

To make a text container, use the standard text tool. Instead of just clicking, click & drag a rectangular shape. Now start typing, pressing the same box as you were using already.

I was drawing the wrong kind of box. All is well now. Thank you, blueark!
