I have an odd issue. We have a 3 node sql cluster (2 active, on passive) One instance is using full text search (sharepoint) When I try to enable full text search for another instance it says that full text search is not installed. This being said I have a service in cluster admin for SQL Server Full text (instance name) and I also have a service running on the box for Microsoft Search. I tried to reinstall the component however, the only option I have is to completely uninstall sql for this virtual server. Any suggestions?

From a services point everything looks good.

Have you enabled full text search for the database?
