I have a full text catalog in Microsoft's SQL Server 2000, with Server 2000, and the catalog is taking for ever to build. We are talking DAYS. Right now its only on 3,000 objects when the database holds well over 10,000. At this rate it should finish this week... Is there anything I can do to speed this process up? That server also does the backup's for the company. Is it possible that the backups are slowing down this process???
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Erica

The amount of time that it takes to create the full text index will depend on how much data is in each record, how many records, how fast the drives are, and how much the drives are being used.
