Hi all,

We have issue with existing Call Pilot 202i, we think the internal HDD is dead

So, we plan to reinstall by replacing the failed HDD with new one, what I need to reinstall the Call Pilot ?

We have all Call Pilot DVDs already, do I need the OS Windows 2003 to be installed first ?

Thank you in advance for your help

Regards.

If I recall correctly, you just need a SCSI CD/DVD player for the 201c system and I thought you just needed a USB stick with the software on it and have a computer monitor, keyboard / mouse plugged into the faceplate of the Call Pilot system. When you power it up, you tell the BIOS to look for the USB or CD/DVD drive to get it to load the software that includes the Windows operating 2003 system.

I would consider just booting it up first to see if the BIOS sees the hard disk. Perhaps try the CP hard disk on another computer via a USB to SATA/IDE cable to check for any disk errors etc.

Hi Firebird Scrambler, many thanks for your reply, I think the HDD is already faulty, because we tried it on other computers (as external drive) but is not appearing

I already have the CP 5.0 image dvd, my question, should I need the Windows 2003 OS CD also ? or it is included with CP 5.0 image dvd ?

Thank you.

Everything you need is on the image DVD with the exception of the patches you will need as well as the back up

Hi KCFLHRC, that is good for me, thank you

For patches I will download them from ESPL website (nortel) or Avaya support, however, I don't have a backup, but it is not important for the moment, I can reconfigure all data from scratch

Thank you so much

Keep in mind the first patch you will need to install is the Service Pack 2 for Windows because a lot of the other current patches you need to install are dependent on that one to be installed first.

Good Luck

Thank you KCFLHRC, sure, I will try to download them also

I will keep you informed about the installation

Thank you.

Hey Nortavaya, hope it all worked out you. I have had to rebuild a few 202i's over time and if you have to do it, I highly recommend using a SSD drive. It boots up and loads much faster than conventional HDD type drives. I typically use a 250GB SSD but im sure a 500 would also work fine since the ISO will repartition the drive to what it needs anyway. Good luck!!

Hi motox2,

Thanks for your reply, finally we found that the issue is with CP card not only the HDD

We plan now to replace the entire CP server by new one and switch only the Keycode dongle, then reconfigure from scratch (we don't have a valid backup)

Thank you.
