Currently our Full Exchange Administrator account is tied to a deleted user account. Microsoft has an article published on how to recover/restore an admin account to be the Full Exchange Administrator. This requires inserting the MS Exchange 2003 CD, running setup.exe /forestprep
This should take the current domain admin logged into the server running the setup and assign that account to the Full Exchange Admin account. MS does note that this does not always work and in the event that it does not, we need to use the ADSI Edit Snap-in. This will allow us to custom create a Full Exchange Administrator account from scratch, rerun the forestprep and then presto Full Exchange Administrator is back in business.
Does anyone have a better way or have experience with this that they can share?
