Full duplex Sun Ultra 10

Hello,

I have a problem with a Sun Ultra 10 Solaris 9 connected to a 2950 Cisco Switch (lastest IOS). When we force the server and the Switch to Full duplex speed 100, we can not have commucation. When we put both of them on AUTO duplex and speed AUTO, everything is going ritght?

maybe if you provide a little more info someone might be able to help. Your description is too general. Maybe info like nic brand, model or you can specify default nic, maybe provide some snipets from logs might be helpfull. Does the switch keeps a yellow light or green light in the port your using when its in auto-neg? Did you tried using a different cat5 cable? The more information you provide the easier it is to help.

Cisco tends to have their own proprietary auto-negotiate protocol, whic a lot of times does not jive well with some auto-neg prot's...hardcode, if it does not work, then auto...
