Hi All

Meridan Option 11

I have an issue where by a lot of my Agents are receiving destination busy, but when they hang up and call again it is fine.

I have 120 ISDN channels coming into the switch, currently have 70 agents making calls right now so capacity should in theory be fine!

Is it possible that the switch is not releasing the calls quick enough? If so is there a way I can verify this and change it?

Also are there any loads that will tell me how many ISDN lines it is currently programmed to use? Just so I can confirm it is using all lines.

What would also be good to see is how many, if any, channels/lines are reserved. EG I have 120 lines but if the switch is reserving X amount of them for something then this would explain the shortfall in capacity!

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

TJ

LD 21 LTM
This will give you a list of all the channels and what routes you are using to get out of the PBX.
Some of the channels you have may be dedicated to outbound and some to inbound, other still, may be for LD only. As you can see this may limit the actual amount of outbound trunks available to you.
Going in to LD 90 you can determine what RLI's are used for local and what for LD, then going to LD 86 will associate the RLB(RLI) with the trunks (with the info gathered from LD 90). This will form a map of how your trunks work and for what purpose and should tell you exactly how many outbound trunks are available to you.

Genius! LD21 is exactly what I was after!

Doesn't resolve the problem but certainly points me in the right way for diagnosing the issue!

Thank you!

Only a guess here, but I think it fills the bill............

If you have ISDN, have a look at the DCH programming, especially the INC_T3and the OUT_T306 (out in particular).

These timers hold the channels so that you can listen to tone.

By default the OUT timer is 30Secs, meaning that at the end of an outgoing call you hold for up to 30 Secs. Try reducing this to maybe 6 secs and see if the grade of service improves.
