full back up wont cancel

I have Veritas 10 on server 03 and i had a daily full tape back up get hung up for 30 hours. Well now the job wont cancel it says canceling for 30 minutes? I searched with no luck for a similar issue.

For the latest versions of BE there is a recovery feature.
Which i complained for ever since version 9.1

Your version should have the Automatic cancellation
feature so it will eventually stop the job if it freezes
up instead of sitting for days on same job getting nowhere.

I use the Priority / Availability on all my jobs
but i also have most of my servers reboot nightly so it
clears up any quirks.

I also built my own agent to monitor the remote BE
instances i keep an eye on for clients. Cuz its a pain
logging into the servers and running the app and waiting
for it to finally come up so i can see what its upto.
