My Earthlink dsl service was activated Yesterday but I still have not recieved my hardware. They issue there own dsl modems ranging from several different makers and brands.
Well I happened to have a Fujitsu speedport (adsl) handy and was not able to gain access to the service. Now I know my settings are correct because I've configured several computers before for the same type of service. My question is,is the fugitsu speedport compatible with my current Dsl package? Earthlink suport has not been to helpful. I am currently running Win2k and have an alternate dialup (56k) attached to my computer.Have winpoet configured exactly like earthlinks online and C.S. told me too. Does anybody know the common errors and technical errors I may be running in to? And is this freaken modem compatible? Please help me. P.S. My girlfriends gone for two weeks! So I really need some high speed services going on over here! Thanks!

Earthlink is just the isp in this case. they are setup in the redback to authenticate only. What type of dslam is your provider using? Is there an Acatel chip in your equipment? Do you get a link on the DSL? Is this a static or dynamic ip address? Jeter@LasVegas.com
