Hi All,
I am convinced that is a hardware issue rather that software but I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this.
The fans on my laptop are not functioning normally.
I hear them spin on startup and then they die on OS startup.
The CPU then gets extremely hot ( over 90 degrees Celc )
OS: Slackware 11
Kernel: 2.6.17 & 2.6.19
Machine: Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo L1310G
I have to turn the fan off ( although it's already off ) and back on again
ie. echo '3' > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN0/state
echo '0' > /proc/acpi/fan/FAN1/state
This results in the fan being permanently on with CPU running at about 55 degrees Celc.
I'm now running Zenwalk 4 - but no difference...
Anyone else had this issue?
Thanks
