We are in the process of installing some removable hard drives, have you had any experience with these?
Removable Hard Drive Installation II
1. dis syss – to determine if the EMA counter = 0, the UPD lamp is off, and the switch is in parallel mode. If so, continue to step 4. If not, go to step 2.
2. sav ccd – saves any unsaved information to the hard drive, shuts off the PD lamp, and resets the EMA counter to 0
3. set om – enables the PBX to be set to parallel mode. Set to parallel mode
4. Determine which shelf is active. If shelf 1 is active, use the “swi sys” command to make MCPR shelf 0 active. Shelf 01 will be the standby shelf
5. Verify that the MAC terminal is connected to shelf 0
6. Check the swithover schedule, and auto date save with the DIS ATTM command
7. Use the DIS CATS command to determine the scheduled catalog executions schedule
8. Check the SMDR backup file assignment using the DIS SMDBF command. If there is an assignment, SMDR BACKUP FILE LIST will show the file names assigned. If there are file names assigned, enter the STO SMDBR command.
9. Check Traffic measurement with the DIS TMC command. It must be stopped with the STO TM command. After the removable hard drive is installed, the command must be restarted.
10. Automatic fault message output must be stopped using the CHA AFMPT command. This too will have to be restarted.
11. Check for SVP,2,25,0. If the last field isn’t 0, then use the command - CHA SVP,2,25,0 to make it so.
12. Document the remote access MC port programming. Using the REM IO command, remove all but the on-site MAC MC port (other maintenance console ports will have a baud rate of 2400 bps) Re-install them when the Removable Hard Drive is installed.

13. Let Rob know that there will be no calls collected during the installation procedure.
14. Place the PSIOCF card in the standby shelf in an out-of-service state by using the REM IO command.
15. There is no PSDCCX card in either shelf and so no action is required to disable it.
16. Set the following switches on the PSCCPN Cards, in both shelves, as follows:
A. KEF key – On
B. ESP key – On
17. Remove the A and B connectors from the PSPBCD card in standby shelf.
18. Shut off power to the standby shelf
19. Label the I/O cables so that they can be installed correctly on the new card.
20. Remove the PSIOCF card
21. Set the strapping on the PSIORF card the same as on the PSIOCF card.
22. Remove the standby shelf hard drive mounting screws, and set in a safe place.
23. Remove the hard drive from standby shelf.
24. Insert the removable hard drive into the standby shelf
25. Turn power back on to the standby shelf.
26. Place cables back onto the A & B connectors on the PSPBCD card. Set the switches on the standby shelf PSCCPN card as follows:
A. KEF Key – Off
B. ESP Key – Off
27. With the RESTORE IO command, restore all I/O ports:
A. PISIORF
B. Remote access MAC terminal
28. When the FMC port is restored, the system will write the system database to the new hard drive. It can take up to 30 minutes.
29. Use the SET OM command to return the PBX to parallel mode.
30. Verify that the ring generator is active in shelf 1.
31. Toggle the OUT switch on the active BCKOE card to force a Phase 1 restart.
32. Return to step 4 to install the second removable hard drive in shelf 0
33. Enable all stopped processes and restore all removed I/O ports in both shelves, if any.
a. Restart scheduled catalog execution
b. Restart Traffic Measurement output to hard disk
c. Restore the SMDR Backup File Assignment
d. Restore SVP,2,25 to its original programming
e. Restore the remote MAC terminal port assignment.

Pretty much, just power off the standby shelf, replace cards and drive, power back on, Then...if the drive comes up unloaded try to perform a restore hd,fmxx. You may have to use your floppy back ups and perform a load file "loa file,fmxx,fmxx" 1st
